Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce generation of NOx, by selecting the rate of a two-stage combustion to be greater than 20%, and making the average excess air ratio at an upstream burner section greater than that at a downstream burner section.
CONSTITUTION: A burner shown in the drawing is supplied with fuel from a fuel supply line 5 and combusting air from a combusting-air supply line 6, respectively. Here, arrangement is such that the amount of fuel and that of combusting air supplied to a plurality of burners are both made different. That is, the average excess air ratio at an upstream burner section, determined by the amount of fuel (Fa+Fb) and the amount of combusting air (Aa+Ab) supplied to upstream burners 4a, 4b is made greater than that at a downstream burner section, determined by the amount of fuel (Fc+Fd) and the amount of combusting air (Ac+Ad) supplied to downstream burners 4c, 4d. With such an arrangement, it is enabled to reduce generation of NOx.
