Abstract
PURPOSE:To dispense with a denitration device and increase the output of an engine, by adopting a denitration combustor and utilizing the output increase of a turbo-compressor due to that of an exhaust turbine to heighten intake pressure. CONSTITUTION:A denitrating combustion chamber 10, which is composed of a combustion chamber 7, a reduction chamber (denitration chamber) 8 and a complete combustion chamber 9, is provided in a halfway part of an exhaust pipe 6 which connects the body 1 of an engine to an exhaust turbine 2. Fuel is added into the combustion chamber 7 and burned to generate intermediate products. In the next reduction chamber 8, NOx in exhaust gas and the intermediate products are caused to react with each other so that the NOx is decomposed into water and nitrogen. In the complete combustion chamber 9, the intermediate products are completely burned. The intake pressure in the engine body 1 is heightened by the output increase of a compressor 3 due to that of the exhaust turbine 2 to greatly augment the output of the engine.
