Abstract
PURPOSE: The titled composition, containing a specific methacryloyl phthalate monomer, capable of bonding to the tooth firmly by polymerizing in use, and suitable to a filler for dental use, correcting the denture, etc.
CONSTITUTION: (A) a polymerizable monomer, e.g. 3-[(2-hydroxy-3-methacryloyloxypropyl)amino]phthalic acid, expressed by the formula is used alone or mixed with another polymerizable monomer,e.g. methyl methacrylate, to give the aimed composition. The monomer (A) is obtained by reacting glycidyl methacrylate with an aminobenzenedicarboxylic acid or (aminomethyl)benzenecarboxylic acid. FEEFCT:The composition is capable of bonding a composite resin, etc. to the dentine effectively, suppressing the secondary caries, and retaining a high bonding strength even in water or saliva.
