Abstract
PURPOSE:To increase the working efficiency and the operability of an electronic cash register, by regitering each article with a specific unit of currency, and at the same time performing the reception and payment of money to the customer with the unit of currency the customer designates and thus eliminating the designating work for the transfer of money. CONSTITUTION:A keyboard 4 of an ECR contains keys K1-K5 that designate the type of currency, a figure register key K6, a department key K8, etc. The department price is supplied with the prescribed unit of currency and display at a indicator 5 via a display/keyboard interface 6. At the same time, the department price is supplied to an RAM3 under the control of a CPU1. A total memory M1 containing flags F1-F9 that designate the types of currency plus rate memories M2-M6 for each type of currency are provided to the RAM3. A lamp group 5d is provided to the display 5 to show the designation of each type of currency. Then each article is registered with a specific type of currency, and at the same time the reception/payment of money is carried out to the customer with the type of currency the customer designates. The types of currency are displayed by the lamp group 5d of the display 5. In such a way, both the working efficiency and the operability can be increased.
