Abstract

PURPOSE:To simplify a distance-speed converting circuit, by preparing the speed of a head, which corresponds to a distance up to a target track, in a distance- speed conversion table in advance as head movement target speed information. CONSTITUTION:Once a head movement command is sent out, a microprocesssor 30 calculates the number of tracks from a track where an unshown servo head is positioned to a target track and then stores the result in an RAM32. The processor 30 adds the stored contents of the RAM32 to the base address of a distance-speed conversion table and stores the result in another address of the RAM32. The processor 30 accesses the distance-speed conversion table by using the latter address of the RAM32 as an address to store head movement target speed information in a register 33. The speed information is converted by a D-A converting circuit 34 into a head movement target speed signal 25, which is supplied to an analog adder 11 to move an unshown actuator 1.
