Abstract
PURPOSE:To brake a motor with a simple construction by switching elements of respective directions of three phases in reponse to the magnitude of rotating speed to generate a braking torque without producing a drive torque. CONSTITUTION:Thyristors 1-6 are conducted during the operation of a motor 7. When the set value of a setting unit 9 is set to zero to brake, a block circuit GC1 operates to interrupt thyristors 2, 3, 6. When the rotating speed of the motor 7 is larger than the set value of the setting unit 11 at this time, a comparator C produces an H level, and produces an L level except that case. In the former case, the thyristors 1, 5 are conducted once at the frequencies of 1/2, 1/4 of the power frequency, and the thyristor 4 is always conducted ON. In the latter case of low speed, the thyristor 1, 4, 5 are always conducted ON, thereby stopping the motor 7.
