Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain an efficient and economical device in obtaining a rough formed ingot by width rolling of a flat ingot by installing a holding device provided with plural rolls of selectable different holding width. CONSTITUTION:The rolling supporting device is made up of a set of holding rolls 22-24, 22'-24' on one side of main rolls 21, 21' and a set of holding rolls 25-27, 25'-27' on the other side. Rolls 22-27, 22'-27' can rotate on their own axes and holding width of a pair of rolls are different. Aforementioned set of rolls are able to rotate around other axes and installed near the rolls 21, 21' and allowing movement in the direction of holding the rolled stock. A flat rolled stock 17 is width rolled by rolls 21, 21' and made to rough formed ingot for shape steel by expansion of the end part. At this time, a pair of rolls of proper holding width, for instance, 22, 22', 25, 25' are selected to hold the rolled stock to prevent falling down, twisting etc. of the rolled stock.
