Abstract

PURPOSE: To dye cellulose and cellulose-contg. fiber materials deep color, by a method wherein the cellulose and cellulose-contg. fiber materials are dyed in the presence of a cellulose-swelling agent by using a specified oil-soluble dye.
CONSTITUTION: Cellulose and cellulose-contg. fiber materials are dyed in the presence of a cellulose-swelling agent by using a dye of the formula (wherein R1 is H, alkyl having ≥4 carbon atoms; R2, R3 are H, alkyl having ≥6 carbon atoms). Examples of the cellulose-swelling agents are polyhydric alcohols such as n-hexane- 1,3,5-triol and polyethylene glycol and polyhydric alcohol derivatives such as diethylene alycol mono-n-butyl ether and diethylene glycol monomethyl ether acetate.
