Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent abuses of the inner burr, by removing the inner burr, formed during the manufacture of the electric resistance welded tube, by installing a device for melting and condensing the inner burr or for melting and scattering it. CONSTITUTION:A nonconsumable type electrode 18 is attached to the tip of a conduit pipe 17 of high rigidity, internally provided with a cooling water pipe, an electric conductive cable and a gas pipe; this electrode 18 is located always above the electric welding line and at a specified distance from the inner surface of the tube 7. The electric power source 21 make the electrode 18 generate the arc 19 which melts the inner burr 6b; the molten inner burr 6b condenses in a sphere shape which forms the penetration beads 20a. Hereupon, the electric current, voltage, etc., are balanced for preventing the tube 7 from being molten. Hereby, the molten inner burr 6b is prevented from falling down. It is also possible that water W and gas G are supplied by the welding torch equipped with a water cooled nozzle 22, for applying an arc gouging work in order to melt and scatter the inner burr 6b so as to form the penetration beads 20b.
