Abstract
PURPOSE: To improve the reliability of data by printing bar codes in ink including magnetic components and then by magnetizing them in an even magnetic field.
CONSTITUTION: Card 1 is printed in magnetic ink to form bar codes of the part 2 and unprinted part 3. When widths of parts 2 and 3 are L, data "0" is expressed and when 1/2L, "1" is expressed. When magnetic resistance MR head 4 fed with electric current is moved over those bar codes, parts 2 and 3 differ in resistance value and this variation is extracted and processed by an FF circuit, so that data "0" and "1" can be read. Those bar codes form data hard to erase entirely in an external magnetic field and even when so, the data can easily restore. Since the magnetic filed is detected, the surface is tolerant to dirt and the reliability of data can be improved in an easy method.
