Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent damage to a fitting portion as well as to obtain a film fitting having no possibility of loosening by providing projections deformed by using a punch in the groove formed in a shaft portion in order to secure a fitting parts there and provide gaps for other portions.
CONSTITUTION: The shoulders of a groove 1a of a cam shaft 1 are crushed by using punch in order to form projections 1b, which are deformed by forcing a protrusion 2a of a cam piece 2 into the groove 1a so that friction between said contact portions enables the cam shaft 1 and the cam piece 2 to be secured. Thereby, because gaps are formed for other portions, no parts are damaged and the allowable values of the fitting portion dimensions can be enlarged, so that the parts are readily worked. Moreover, because the fitting portion is formed by crushing and deforming, a firm fitting having no possibility of loosening is enabled without the need for machining.
