Abstract

PURPOSE: To print always data in the correct direcdion even if the print medium is inserted either in the normal direction or the reverse direction, by providing two specific character generators and by using them selectively.
CONSTITUTION: Bit information of addresses are stored in two character generators 51 and 52 so that dot arrangements of characters to be printed are opposite to each other in the vertical direction. When the print medium, for example, a bank book is inserted, the page mark of this bank book is detected by two sensors, and the insertion direction of the bank bood is decided by the page mark detecdion order of these sensors. By the state of this detection signal GSL, one of character generators 51 and 52 is selected to print data. Thus, data is always printed in the correct direction even if the print medium is inserted in the normal direction and the reverse direction vertically.
