Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable to prevent damage of the forward end part of paper sheets, by a method wherein a device is constituted such that, even if sheets fed into channels in a collecting wheel have a large kinetic energy, said energy can be absorbed efficiently.
CONSTITUTION: In a sheet collector which brings back sheets such as data cards passing through a reading device, into a laminating state again, buffer cylinders 11 are installed on an outer circumference of a shaft 4 located between collecting wheels 3, 3. A sheet P is fed into a channel 5 in the collecting wheel 5 while it is decelerated in speed through friction with the inner surface of the channel 3, and is finally bumped against the outer surface of the cylinder 11. The cylinder 11 is soft like a spongy body having a restoring property, and thereby an energy at a bumping time is absorbed through deformation of the cylinder. As noted above, the cylinder 11 deforms and a kinetic energy is absorbed, and thereby, even if the sheet P is fed into the channel 5 with a large kinetic energy, the forward end part thereof is prevented from being damaged.
