Abstract

PURPOSE:To attain to switch a pass line rapidly and simply by providing a steel strip clamp apparatus, a shear and sheet splicing apparatus, a reversely rotatable pinch roll capable of inching movement, a steering roll apparatus and a sheet withdrawing apparatus at a steel strip inlet side and an outlet side of steel strip heat treating furnace of a zinc plating line. CONSTITUTION:When a steel strip 15 is switched from a general pass line bypassed to a pinch roll 12 through a pinch roll 9 to a pass line passing through an overageing furnace 14, steel strip clamp apparatuses 1-4 are closed and a steel strip is cut by a shear stitcher 5 at an inlet side. This cut steel strip is withdrawn by a lift table 7 and introduced into a shear stitcher by reversely rotating and an inching movement of a steering roll 10 and, thereafter, introduced into a shear stitcher by lifting the clamp 1 as well as forward rotating and inching movement of the pinch roll 9 to subject both ends of steel strips to the sheet splicing. Subsequently, the clamp apparatus is opened and a steel strip is passed through an overageing furnace.
