Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent charging, by detecting break of a carrier detection signal of the MODEM to release the telephone line in a transmission line where data is transmitted through a prescribed line and the telephone line. CONSTITUTION:Central processing unit CPU is connected to the terminl equipment through adapter ADP1, MODEM MOD1, MODEM MOD3, MODEM MOD3', and exchange LF. When MODEMs MOD3 and MOD3' are connected, the carrier detection signal is output under the turn-on state. When the line becomes faulty, the carrier detection signal is turned off. When this state continues for a prescribed time, network control unit NCU releases the telephone line. Consequently, since the telephone line is released when the specific line becomes faulty, charging is prevented.
