PURPOSE: To prevent the reverse travelling of a motor driven vehicle by generating a reverse polarity deceleration signal proportional to the deviation between a vehicle speed instruction value and an actual vehicle speed and determining a timing for reversely braking upon application of a deviation signal through a differentiator to a comparator.
CONSTITUTION: A deviation between an instruction vehicle speed signal ec and an actual vehicle speed signal ev is produced. At this time the polarities of the signals ec and ev are inverted, and two deviation signal Δea and Δeb are formed. If the actual vehicle speed is lower than the instruction vehicle speed, the output ef of a comparator 16 is "0", and a deviation signal +Δea is applied to a chopper circuit 5. If the actual vehicle speed is higher than the instruction vehicle speed, the comparator 16 will output a signal ef, a deviation signal -Δeb is applied to the chopper circuit 5, and the vehicle is reversely braked. Since the signal ed falls at the time earlier than the signal -Δeb, the vehicle is returned to the ordinary state from the reverse braking immediately before the deviation signal -Δeb becomes "0".
