Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a lighting device which is free from glittering light and flare light and is suited for copying machines having variable magnification functions by diposing plural reflection plates and one change-over reflection plate around a straight tube type light source to form different condensing systems and selectively using these.
CONSTITUTION: A lighting device 19 is constituted of a straight tube type light source 26, plural sheets of reflection plates 27 and a change-over reflection plate 28. The reflection plate 27 consists of four reflection plates 31W34 of an oval shape in section and plane reflection plates 35, 36. A condensing system 37 condensing at the part A to be lighted is formed by the reflection plates 31, 32, 35, and a condensing system 38 for the part B to be lighted is formed by the reflection plates 33, 34, 36. With this consitution, the condensing system 37 is used and the part A is lighted by positioning the change-over reflection plate 28 to the condensing system 38 side at the time of unmagnified copying. At the time of variable magnification copying, the reflection plate 28 is turned by half to use the condensing system 38, by which the part B is lighted. Thereby, glittering light and flare light are decraesed and the lighting suited for variable magnification copying may be accomplished.
