Abstract

PURPOSE: To efficiently carry out freezing, thawing and heating of food to be processed in a brief period of time by introducing part of a heat pipe insert into food to be processed such as broiler, etc.
CONSTITUTION: The tip of a heat pipe 1 is caused to vertically pierce into a broiler 3 and part of it is caused to stick out of a broiler 3. Because of a thicker intermediate part 6 of the heat pipe 1a than the other part, a broiler 3 won't fall through. During freezing, a broiler is hung down on a chain conveyor 2 with the exposed part turned upward. Consequently, the exposed part becomes an exothermic part and a broiler insertion part 3 works as an endothermic part, moving a broiler inside a freezing chamber for freezing. Next, the heat pipe 1 is reversed with a broiler 3 placed upward and the exposed part downward and a broiler is caused to move inside a heating chamber for thawing. Thus the heat pipe 1a can easily be pulled out. In this manner, it is possible to carry out freezing, thawing and heating of a broiler, etc. in a brief period of time.
