Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide a molding compsn. having excellent heat resistance and mechanical characteristics and particularly suitable for use as a sliding material, by a method wherein an aminosilane-treated glass fiber and graphite are blended with a polyaminobismaleimide or a derivative thereof.
CONSTITUTION: 15W400pts.wt. of an aminosilane-treated glass fiber and 5W400 pts.wt. of graphite are blended with 100pts.wt. of a polyaminobismaleimide or a derivative thereof. As the amino gp. of the aminosilane-treated glass fiber is chemically bonded to the polyaminobismaleimide, excellent mechanical strength can be obtd. which can not be obtd. by using conventional glass fibers. When the amount of the aminosilane-treated glass fiber is less than 15pts.wt., an effect on the increasement of the mechanical strength can not be obtd. When the amount is more than 400pts.wt., it is difficult to mold the compsn. When the amount of the graphite is less than 5pts.wt., wearing characteristics and mold release characterisitcs can not be obtd. When the amount is more than 400pts.wt., it is difficult to mold the compsn.
