Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve resistance to slide of the magnetic head, by explosively sticking a hard material to the head face. CONSTITUTION:Lower core 2 is plated on substrate 1 of the thin film head, and conductor 3 is plated on lower core 2. Next, upper core 4 is plated on lower core 2 and conductor 3, and protection plate 6 is caused to adhere to upper core 4 through adhesive 5, thereby constituting a magnetic head. In case of polishing of head face 7, the thin film of the hard material such as silicon carbide is explosively stuck to head face 7 after concave 10 is formed in adhesive 5. Since protection film 9a stuck by explosion is very strong due to the anchor effect dependent upon concave 10, resistance to wear is improved very much.
