Abstract

PURPOSE: To guide an exhaust gas to an outer pipe or an inner pipe in correspondence to the rotational number of an engine and produce a high output of the engine over the low speed rotation to the high rotation by providing a sliding pipe in an exhaust pipe.
CONSTITUTION: An engine 1 has a piston 2 and a crank-shaft 4, and a suction pipe 6 is connected to an exhaust pipe 7. A sliding pipe 13 is fitted in an inner pipe 2b, and slides longitudinally to open and close a valve 14. At the high speed rotation of the engine, the sliding pipe 13 assumes a receding position, and the exhaust gas is guided into an outer pipe 12a. At the lower speed rotation of the engine, the sliding pipe 13 assumes an advancing position, and the exhaust gas is introduced into an inner pipe 12b. Accordingly, since the exhaustion characteristic of the exhaust pipe 7 can be varied, the engine 1 can obtain a high output characteristic over the lower speed rotation to high speed rotation.
