Abstract

PURPOSE: To prepare a low toxic agent for controlling soil pathogens, especially effective to the control of blights originated from Fusarium, and also effective to accelerate the growth of the crops, by using phenylphosphonous acid or its salt with an inorganic or organic base as an effective component.
CONSTITUTION: An agent having excellent controlling effect to soil pathogens resistant to the conventional controlling means, by using phenylphosphonous acid or its salt with an inorganic or organic base, e.g. the compound of formula IWV. The agent has remarkable controlling effect against the blights caused by Fusarium e.g. fusarium yellow of radish, fusarium wilt of tomato, cucumber, etc., and also has an activity to promote the growth the crops. It is harmless to crops, low toxic to warm-blooded animals, and nonpolluting to the environment. The combined use of the above compound with other fungicide further increases the controlling effect to soil pathogens.
