Abstract

PURPOSE: To facilitate an easy cue action and others, by providing the rotary mechanism and the lifting mechanism of a tone arm separately and then giving an alternative operation to these mechanisms via a switching mechanism.

CONSTITUTION: The tone arm 1 is supported at the upper part of the shaft 2, and the gear 4 of a large diameter is fixed at the lower part of the shaft 2. Thus the arm 1 turns along with the gear 4. The circular-arc type arm lifter 6 moves the rod 7 up and down via the upper face cam 8a of the cam body 8. In case the cue operation is given when the arm 1 is on the arm rest or under the record performance, the output level of the switch SW₂ becomes L. Thus the motor 21 turns forward, and the arm lifter mechanism works. Then the arm 1 moves upward by the function of the cam 8a. When the cam body 8 has 1/2 turn, the motor 21 stops. Thus the arm 1 is held right above the arm rest or at the upper part of the record disk. In such way, the cue action and others is facilitated.
