Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a printing plate having high ink receivability, superior image stability, shelf stability, etc. by forming a photosensitive layer on a support with a photosolubilizing type photosensitive substance dispersed in a matrix slightly soluble in a developer and forming a silicone rubber layer on the photosensitive layer. CONSTITUTION:A photosensitive layer is formed on a support such as a chemically treated Al plate with a photosolubilizing type photosensitive substance such as naphthoquinone-1,2-diazido-5-sulfonic acid ester of phenol novolak resin dispersed in a matrix such as chlorinated polypropylene slightly soluble in a developer for the photosensitive substance. On the photosensitive layer a silicone rubber layer is then formed to manufacture a negative type lithographic original plate requiring no dampening water. This plate is exposed through a halftone image, dipped in a developer, and softly rubbed with a developing pad to remove the rubber layer alone of the exposed part. Thus, the photosensitive layer faithfully reproducing the image of the negative film is disclosed, and a printing plate with superior printing resistance is obtd.
