Abstract

PURPOSE: To prepare glass fiber for glass paper, having excellent collectability and high dispersibility in water, by treating the surface of glass fiber with a specific treating agent containing an organosilane.
CONSTITUTION: An agent containing about 0.1W5wt% of an organosilane (pref. γ-aminoproply triethoxysilane in case of using e.g. an acrylic binder) and about 0.5W5wt% of a water-soluble adhesive (e.g. carboxyl-modified polyvinyl alcohol), is applied to the surface of glass fiber to obtain the titled glass fiber.
