Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent the cargo from collapse when delivered and stored and to reduce the operating time of forks by providing a driving motor for expanding forks and a crank disk mechanism for changing rotation of the motor into low speed linear motion at the start and the end.
CONSTITUTION: When a two-speed motor 2a with a brake is started, the rotation is transmitted to a crank disk 2f through a worm reduction gear 2b, a chain 2d. This rotation is transmitted to a slide disk 2i and an intermediate fork 3b through a cam roller 2g and a groove 2h, and both 2i and 3b take a linear motion. Further, this linear motion is transmitted to an upper fork 3c through a sprocket 3f for expanding the fork and a chain 3g. The upper fork 3c operates at twice the speed of the intermediate fork 3b in an expanding direction. In this case, the fork is driven by the action of both disks 2f, 2i so that it can move slow at the start and at the end, and the loads are prevented from collapse.
