Abstract

PURPOSE:To vaporize the effluent continuously by leading the effluent from a liquid chromatograph to a vacuum chamber, atomizing with a jet stream of an atomizing gas, heating and vaporizing, and sending to an ion source. CONSTITUTION:A sample 2 is analyzed with a liquid chromatograph 1, the detected output is recorded in a recorder 7, and a part of the effluent from the detector 6 is flown from a splitter 8 to a sample leading pipe 14. The effluent passing through the sample leading pipe 14 is cooled with a low temperature fluid 15 and lead to a vacuum chamber 11. At the end of the sample leading pipe 14, a high speed jet stream of an atomizing gas of not less than several 10 Torr which is flowing from a nozzle 12 to a nozzle 13 is formed, where the effluent is atomized to form fine mist. Fine mist thus obtained is vaporized with heat of a heater 16, and sent to an ion source 9 to ionize.
