Abstract
PURPOSE: To prepare liquid xanthate in short steps, by extracting crystalline xanthate prepared and crystallized in a solvent, with water.
CONSTITUTION: Xanthate prepared in an organic solvent such as benzene, to toluene, xylene, etc., is crystallized in the solvent, and extracted with water. The objective liquid xanthate is directly separated from the solvent. The organic solvent can be recycled. The preparation steps can be reduced compared with the conventional process comprising the separation of crystallized xanthate, drying of the crystals, etc.
