Abstract

NEW MATERIAL:Azo dyes of formula I (wherein R1 is H, 1W12C alkyl, hydroxyalkyl, alkoxyalkyl, alkoxyalkoxyalkyl, alkoxycarbonylalkyl, acyloxyalkyl, aryloxyalkyl, cyanoalkyl, etc.)
USE: The cpd. are suitable for dyeing of various synthetic fiber materials, particularly polyester fibers. The cpd. are used as dyes which dye fibers yellow with excellent fastness, exhibit high dyeing rate in high-temperature dyeing and less sensitivity to pH and are little decomposed during dyeing.
PREPARATION: 1,6-Diaminoanthraquinone and/or 1,7-diaminoanthraguinone are/is diazotized and then the resulting product is coupled with a 3-cyano-4-methyl- 6-hydroxy-2-pyridone of formula II to produce a cpd. of formula I.
