Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a product of a honeybee containing much mineral having a high coefficient of digestibility and activity, by adding an aqueous solution of a water-soluble mineral compound to a feed honey, feeding the honey to honeybee groups, and collecting the honey or royal jelly several days after the feeding.
CONSTITUTION: A mineral, e.g. sodium orthogermanate, potassium iodide or calcium phosphate, is dissolved in water, diluted with water and adjusted to prepare a diluted feed honey. The resultant dilute solution is added to a feed honey and fed to honeybee groups, and then the honey or royal jelly is collected several days thereafter. Thus, various minerals having a low coefficient of digestibility can be recovered as a mineral having a high coefficient of digestibility by the action of various secretions in the body of a honeybee.
