Abstract

PURPOSE: To eliminate virtually the time delay in the reading, by dividing the area on the optical disk into about 1,000sec and then securing the recording of the track number on each sector.
CONSTITUTION: A piling is secured through piling part 14 between the FM-modulated record information signal 9 and the track number repeat signal 10 having the frequency component lower enough than the signal 9. These piled signals are then turned into the pulse signal 12 through pulse forming circuit 15, and then the laser beam is modulated by the optical modulator 16 to be recorded by the writing head 17 and in the form of the bit 13. At the same time, the electric signal during the reading is supplied to the demodulator 24 via the low-pass filter 22, and the track number information is detected in about 1,000 times during a turn of the disk along with demodulation of the record information signal through the demodulator 25. As a result, the time delay can be virtually eliminated when one is selected among about 50 tracks which are decided most by a mechanical means when the positioning is given to the tracks.
