Abstract

PURPOSE: To equalize the working time of a plurality of compressors and to prevent a simultaneous starting of operation among them in the air conditioner whose operation is controlled by changing the number of operative compressors by selecting the compressors to be started or stopped in a random sequence and maintaining an output terminal at L level for a longer time than a time required for starting the compressor.
CONSTITUTION: When the number of compressors necessary to operate outputted from an output circuit 3 is larger than the number of compressors actually in operation and only an UP-signal terminal 5 becomes H level, the H level signal is commonly fed into one input terminal of the respective AND gate 7, 8 and 9. The other input terminal of the respective AND gate 7, 8 and 9 is connected respectively to the output terminal (a), (b) and (c) of a reference oscillation circuit 10. Between the time intervals of the respective output terminals (a), (b) and (c) being H level, there is provided a time period longer than required for starting the compressor, thereby preventing a simultaneous operation of two compressors.
