Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain terminals of simple structures which provide good feed actions, by using a terminal piece which has both a fixed part that is fixed on the inner wall of the base plate, and a projecting part that extends from the fixed part and protrudes outside the packaging. CONSTITUTION:Terminal pieces 13 and 14 are pressed into and fixed on the inner surface of the end of a glass base-plate 1 by means of heat. The terminal piece 13 is for a cold cathode. The part of the piece 13 which is outside the tube is bent perpendicularly to the tube, and it serves as a terminal pin. The U-shaped terminal piece 14, which is for an anode, has the first and the second projections 16 and 17, which extend from the fixed part of the piece 14 and protrude outside the tube. The first projection 16 is bent at the middle of that by about 180 deg., and it is made in contact with the end of the anode. The second projection 17 serves as a terminal pin for the anode.
