Abstract

PURPOSE: To simply and surely detect the defect of a display device and to seek automation of the lamp test by a method wherein an alarm is generated in accordance with a value of voltage detected when all lamps are turned off.
CONSTITUTION: Series circuits of lamps L1WLN and resistors R1WRN are installed between a Dc source V0 and the earth. The turning ON and OFF of lamps is performed by switching the potential at a node between each lamp and each resistor to a high or low level. And then, a cathode side of each of diodes D1WDN is connected to each node and an anode side of each diode is jointly connected and this joint node is connected to an input side of a voltage detector 30. And an alarm system 40 is actuated in accordance with a voltage value detected through the detector 30 when lamps are entirely turned off by means of a control circuit 20, thus, informing an abnormality of the lamp display system.
