Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain inexpensively the titled steel plate which is excellent in the strength-ductility balance and of high quality in comparison with conventional ones, by winding a steel consisting of a specified composition such as C, Si at >= 300 deg.C after said steel is heated at a specified temperature and then is heated, rolled and cooled under specified conditions. CONSTITUTION:A steel consisting of 0.05-0.15% C, <=2% Si, 0.5-2% Mn, 0.01-0.1% Al and the residue of Fe and some impurities is rolled in >=90% total draft and more than Ar3 point after it has been heated in 1,000-1,150 deg.C, and then the steel is wound at <=300 deg.C after it has been cooled at 10-100 deg.C/sec. cooling rate. Thus, by means of only cheap alloy elements and reducing of heating temperature, the titled steel plte which is excellent in strength-ductility balance in comparison with conventional ones can be obtained inexpensively. Moreover, when <=0.015% S and Zr (2<=Zr/S<=10) or rear earth element (REM) (1.3<=REM/S<=5) or Ca (0.5<=Ca/S<=1.5) are added to said compositions, the above-mentioned characteristics is improved more.
