Abstract

PURPOSE: To print a displayed fare on recording paper immediately and to thereby prepare a receipt by a method wherein a plasma display type printing panel is provided on the back surface of a plasma display panel and the operation of the device is changed over from the display panel to the printing panel when a passenger gets off the taxi.

CONSTITUTION: A fare signal fed from a fare-calculating circuit 30 interlocked with the distance meter of the taxi is applied to a digit electrode 21 of the plasma diaplay type priting panel 11 through a digit selection signal generating circuit 28, a digit driving circuit 26 and a change-over switch 25. On the other hand, another signal from the circuit 30 is fed to a common segment electrode for display and printing through a segment selection signal generating circuit 29, a driving circuit 27, etc. When a passenger gets in th taxi, a vacant-state display switch is tilted down to actuate the circuit 30, causing the panel 11 to display. When the passenger gets off the taxi, a fare printing button is depressed to actuate a printing driving circuit 31, and the change-over switch 25 is operaed to apply a voltage from a diaplay electrode to a parinting electrode, whereby a sheet of recording paper having the fare printed thereon is delivered from the fare display type printing device.
