Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a system of preventing reoccurrence of a jam state which is caused at the returning-on of an electric power source by setting the conveying system together with the control system to an initial state at the turning-on of the power source. CONSTITUTION:When an electric power source 38 is turned on, an automatic clearing circuit 39 outputs a signal AC to a CPU32, and the CPU32 is initially set. At the same time, a timer circuit 40 is driven by the signal AC, which is turn outputs a timer signal. This causes conveying rollers 13, 17, 18 and discharge roller 20 to be operated for a given time, so that the recording paper P which has left on the conveying paths 11, 16 on account of a jam state or service interruption is discharged onto a tray 21. Next, when the signal START is inputted to a select circuit 31, the CPU32 outputs a command signal to a conveying system drive unit 34 and a drive unit 36 for a feed roller 10, by which the recording paper P is successively conveyed. Since the recording paper P which had left on the conveying paths 11, 16 owing to the jam etc. has already been discharged onto the tray 21, hence the reoccurrence of the jam etc. may be prevented.
