Abstract

PURPOSE: To execute smooth lubrication and to cool magentic fluid effectively by a method wherein the magentic fluid is used as a lubricant on an axle bearing of a high speed electric train.
CONSTITUTION: In an axle beaing structure of a high speed electric train there are equipped cylindrical solid magnets in each clearance such as an intermediate void 18 of a double row bearing, the inside void 19 of an axle box, a void 20 between a ball bearing and a cylindericall roller bearing and the outside void 21 of a ball bearings 2. A magnetic fluid 15 as a lubricant is suppressed by loop lines 24 of magnetic force irradiated from these magnets to accomplish a smooth lubrication. And, the heat produced together with high speed rotation is discharged in the atmosphere through the magnetic fluid 15 as a medim using a heat pipe 25 which is mounted on a plug hole 7 installed on an oil sump 13 or using a heat pipe 26 mounted on the journal 4.
