Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent fatigue rupture in bending of a membrane for a low-temperature tank, by providing a membrane anchor which can oscillated freely around an axis extended at a right angle to the surface of a tank body, whereby the membrane can be oscillatingly displaced within a plane in which the membrane is extended.
CONSTITUTION: Cold insulating panels 1 are fixed to a tank body 4 via an anchor body in such a manner that the thermal deformation of the panels 1 can be restricted by a flange 3 of the anchor body. The flange 3 serves to prevent the panels 1 from being deflected at a low temperature. A membrane 14 is fixed to a membrane anchor 13 which is oscillatably joined to another flange 12 of the anchor body. The anchor 13 serves to permit an oscillatory movement of the membrane 14 based on a thermal stress generated therein, and receives a load based on the thermal stress. This load is transmitted to the tank body 4 via the anchor body, so that a gap does not occur between the main anchor 13 and the surfaces of the cold insulating panels 1. Accordingly, no fatigue rupture in bending of the membrane 14 occurs.
