Abstract

PURPOSE:To superfinish both surfaces of the share point of a cutter such as a veneer slicer by horizontally moving a pair of abrasive belts held so as to cross each other at the share point edge of a cutter, with the abrasive belts rotated towards the share point edge at equal speeds. CONSTITUTION:One handle 38 is turned to rotate a screw shaft 27 in order to allow, through a guide plate 18, an abrasive belt 24 wound on upper and lower pulleys 17 and 22 to contact with the upper surface of a cutter 1 on a cutter holder 4.
