Abstract

PURPOSE: To close a water intake port to limit the flow of water as well as to provide a limiting gate in a cylinder type surface water intake device having a limiting gate function by a method wherein water-sealing rubber is closely contacted with abutment surface between a float and multi-stage type cylinder gates.
CONSTITUTION: Water level 4 is detected by the float type water level meter 9, and the cylinder gate 5 is made to be ascended or descended by a winch 7 so as to cause a height h from a top end 6 of the cylinder gate to the water level 4 to be kept constant, and thereby to enable a water intake. In case of applying this means as a limiting gate, the winch 7 is operated while the water intake operation is being performed, the cylinder gate 5 is lowered down to the lowermost position.
