Abstract

PURPOSE: To elevate the resolution of a picture which has been stored in the liquid crystal cell, by irradiating an original to the liquid crystal cell by use of the inexpensive optical system which is inferior in the frequency transmission characteristic, and is used for cutting the high frequency part in an image.
CONSTITUTION: An image of the original 7 irradiated by the light source 8a is projected to the liquid crystal cell 1 in which the storage type liquid crystal 4 having an electrical optics effect and the photosensitive thin film (b) have been combined, through the projection lens 10a, and it is stored, by use of the optical system which is inferior in the frequency transmission characteristic, that is to say, the optical image projecting optical system 14 having "0" or the small value close to "0" in case when the transfer function to the film thickness (d) of the liquid crystal layer is l/d or more of the space frequency. This picture which has been stored is read by projecting it on the screen or the photoreceptor 13, by use of the optical system consisting of the light source 8b, the reflecting mirror 9b, the half mirror 11b and the read lens 12.
