Abstract

PURPOSE: To achieve the improvement in heat-insulating properties by forming the heat-insulating layer of the captioned device by two inner and outer layers of inverted cup-form having no gas permeability and constituting the inner layer in particular by a graphite cylinder of the special construction, a superposed top cover of graphite sheets and a graphite cap fitting to said cylinder.
CONSTITUTION: A heat-insulating layer 5 to be disposed in the pressure vessel of the captioned device is formed by two layers of inner-and outer-side heat-insulating layers 12, 15 of inverted cup- form having no gas permeability. The inner-side heat-insulating layer 12 of a high-temperature region is constituted by a graphite cylinder 11 wound with plural layers of flexible graphite sheets 10 concentrically, a superposed top cover 13 disposed in the upper portion thereof and composed by superposing plural sheets of flexible graphite sheets 10 and a graphite cap 14 eliminating the gas permeability of the inner-side heat-insulating layer 5 by fitting to the foregoing graphite cylinder 11 and having no flexibility. The outer-side heat- insulating layer 15 of a low temperature region is made into the construction formed by a suitable material and having no gas permeability. These make heat-insulating properties about 10 times better than those of conventional ones and permit considerable reduction of the treating time of the heat-insulating materials by the captioned device.
