Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a pressure-resistant vessel of high strength to the tear-off of a recess and pressure resistance capacity by providing a taper on the outside wall of an opening part prior to fitting to decrease the angle between the inside wall and outside wall of the annular recess and the radius of bending of the bottom wall and performing seaming.
CONSTITUTION: In the production of a small-size pressure-resistant vessel for beer casks etc., the angle M and radius R of an annular recess 3 are made small to decrease the distance (l) between the lower part (e) of a bottom wall 9 and the inside surface 13 of the opening part. Along with this, the outside wall 8' of the recess 3' prior to fitting to the opening part 1 is formed to a taper shape which becomes smaller in diameter as it goes nearer to the bottom wall 9' side, to space a distance (l2) between the lower end part 8a' of the outside wall 8' and the inside surface 13 of the opening part. The recess 3' is easily inserted into the opening part 1. Thence, an annular chuck is fitted into the recess 3' and a seaming roll is press- contacted therewith, whereby seaming is accomplished. Thereby, the seaming is executed surely without impairing the tightness of the seamed part 10.
