Abstract
PURPOSE: The titled injection useful for bronchial asthma, comprising an antigen- antibody complex which is formed by the combination of an antibody against the asthma with an antigen inhaled in the trachea in a sputum and contained in an α- globulin fraction as an active constituent.
CONSTITUTION: One pt.vol. sputum of a patient containing 400 units/ml or more γ-globulin E antibody is mixed with physiological saline solution (pH: about 7.0) and extracted at 60°C or below under shaking and separated at a high speed to remove the floating matter and precipitate. Only the resultant clear interlayer is concentrated by ultrafiltration to a volume of about 1/10, and the antigen-antibody complex thus obtained is then mixed with adequate amounts of physiological saline solution and a germicide to give an injection for treating an allergic disease.
EFFECT: The injection has a great treating effect and is capable of treating the allergic disease readily without containing a poison, e.g. histamine, and causing side effects. An α-globulin fraction unstable to heat remains not denatured.
