Abstract

PURPOSE: To early detect randum winding and prevent defective line bodies such as wire cables from being produced by automatically and early detecting that the winding status occurs and generating an alarm signal as soon as the line bodies are wound around a winding drum.
CONSTITUTION: Whenever a line body 2 is wound around a winding drum for a single layer, the move direction of a traverser 4 is inverted and the line body 2 is wound for multiple layers. The revolution of a drum 1 is detected by a rotary detector 5 and a counter 6 counts the number of revolutions of the winding drum 1 based on this signal. On the other hand, a compare circuit 8 compares the counting value of the counter 6 with its reference value for the first inversion of the traverser 4 to the second inversion. When the difference exceeds the allowable range, random winding is assumed and an alarm signal is generated.
