Abstract

PURPOSE: To receive the sunlight in the maximum amount throughout a year, by inclining a solar energy receiving surface and securing it such that the angles between the solar energy receiving surface and a horizontal plane in winter and summer, respectively, are specified for the latitude of the position of the installed solar energy utilizing apparatus.
CONSTITUTION: In the solar energy utilizing apparatus wherein the solar energy receiving surface is fixed for receiving the solar energy, the angle α between the solar energy receiving surface and a horizontal plane is defined, for the latitude ϕ of the position of the installed solar energy utilizing apparatus, to be (0.88+0.05)ϕ -18°≥α≥(0.88-0.05)ϕ-18° in summer when the altitude of the sun is high or to be (0.88+0.05)ϕ+18°≥α≥(0.88-0.05)ϕ+18° in winter when the altitude of the sun is low so that said solar receiving surface may be inclined. This is, as apparent from the characteristic chart that shows integrate values of electric power of a solar cell for the solar energy receiving angles, based on the fact that the electric power is maximum at a solar energy receiving angle ϕ' that is a product of 0.88 multituded by the latitude ϕ of the installed position.
