Abstract

PURPOSE: To form a smooth ink layer having an optimum thickness onto an ink roller, by winding a wire member or by providing a groove around the outer circumference of a rectifying roller.
CONSTITUTION: By rotating the ink roller 11 which is made of a heat-resistant resilient material and whose surface is finished by grinding, the rectifying roller 12 whose outer circumference is wound closely by the fine wire member 13 is rotated, and an electric current is passed through a resistance wire 14 located within the roller 12 to heat and melt the ink received in an ink well. The melted ink K flows into spaces between the roller 11 and wire members 13a, 13b and adheres to the surfaces of the roller 11 and the wire members 13a, 13b. However because the temperature of the roller 12 is higher than that of the roller 11, most of the ink K adheres to the surface of the roller 11 and is removed from the wire members 13a, 13b by the rotation of the roller 11, so that due to the surface tension of the ink a smooth ink layer 35 having an optimum thickness is formed.
