Abstract
PURPOSE:To enlarge the control width of an exciting current by making it possible to short-circuit only two phases of a three-phase bridge type rectifier for supplying the voltage components and current components of a generator output in an overlapping manner by a thyristor connected in antiparallel to rectifying elements. CONSTITUTION:The voltage components are overlapped on the current components of the generator output obtained by a mutual reactor MR, and supplied to a field winding f through a three-phase bridge type rectifier REC. Only two phases of the three-phase bridge type rectifier REC can be short-circuited by means of a thyristor SCR connected in antiparallel to the rectifying elements D3-D6, and the thyristor SCR is controlled in response to a generator output voltage by an automatic voltage regulator AVR. By these procedures, the control width of the exciting current can be enlarged.
