Abstract

PURPOSE: To estimate a moisture of a cake obtained after a sludge is mechanically dehydrated by simple operation by a method wherein mutual relation of a water content ratio of bound water and a water content ratio of a dehydrated cake is preliminarily known and the water content ratio of bound water is calculated by measuring an evaporation speed.
CONSTITUTION: In estimating a moisture of a cake obtained after a sludge of which an amount of an inorg. substance in a dried solid substance is 50wt% or more is mechanically dehydrated, firstly, a water content ratio of bound water is calculated from the measurement of an evaporation speed of a moisture in a sample sludge and, moreover, a water content ratio of a dehydrated cake is measured practically by subjecting the sludge to mechanical dehydration treatment and mutual relation of the water content ratio of bound water and a water content ratio of a dehydrated cake is preliminarily calculated. Then, an evaporation speed of a sludge from which the estimation is measured to obtain a water content ratio of bound water and, from the fabricated mutual relation, the moisture of a mechanically dehydrated cake is estimated. Thereby, the moisture of a dehydrated cake is estimated by simple operation and a plan or selection of a dehydration apparatus are made easy.
